So here is a page with all current writing competitions going on in the UK.

I was thinking we could do something about these...say pick a paying one and a non-paying one, and then, as a site, try and win it. Proceeds are split 90% towards the winner, with 10% going towards the site's PayPal account.

Any suggestions, questions or, indeed, comments?

An interesting idea.  A few questions for the board as a whole:

Are we talking entering a paid an non-paid contest for both poetry and prose, or between the two?  Also, I didn't see notice as to whether entrants from the far side of the Atlantic are applicable...anyone have an idea?

I suggest you USAians try and find a similar list.

...We'll say a profit and a non-profit for both; making four in total.

Sound fair and just and righteous to you?

Everything except you lumping me in with our American friends...I'm proudly Canadian, ya know.  Wink

I'll see if I can find some Canadian/American contests, in case I'm not the only one on this side of the pond.

I will be out of the country - and away from internet - for the next 2-3 weeks.
