Yes I know Im crazy, and I know most of these don't scan, they are the result of a couple of hours studying (yes I do know what the word means) and deciding I needed a new way of recording my notes,

Thermal Physics
The behaviour of gases

The particles at random move
Towards each other they may groove
Tinier than many aided eyes may see
Yet in existence they must be

The atoms in gases racing
And as this they do pressure they are creating
As colliding into things they are
Be it each other, the wall or a bar

Brownian motion, Brownian motion
In this we must believe with great devotion.

Ideal Gas

This Boyle did say
P proportional to 1 over v must be
Charles then said yes I must agree,
But come and look at what I do see,
V is proportional to T

If volume constant stays
Then the mass of that gas
Is proportional to is absolute temperature

So to conclude this sorry tale
PV/T is constant always.

The ideal gas
Obeys all these laws
Just like the perfect child
Their parent
The laws are obeyed
At room temperature
And a normal atmospheric pressure
A real gas (just like a real child)
Ignores these rules

The recipe for the perfect child
Oh sorry I mean the ideal gas,
Is such
PV is equal to nRT
While R remains constant
At 8.31 J mol^-1K^-1

We make assumptions about ideal gases
Like a parent their perfect child
These rules exist
We assume molecules to be tiny
They assume us to remain small forever
We decide there are no intermolecular attractions
They decide they want us to stay innocent
We rule all collisions as elastic
(for their own good, as otherwise the pressure would fall)
They rule us with an iron fist
(for our own good, of course)
oh and we decree the impact time to be less than that of collisions
(allowing us to consider the force as rate of change of momentum)
They decree us to be overreacting, that it doesn’t hurt as much as we claim
(for reasons known only unto them)

P = 1/3 Nm,c^2>/V

Internal Energy

Something everyone has
Solid liquid or gas
It can come in 2 forms
Kinetic or potential
But the total of the 2
At a given temperature
Constant will remain
At absolute zero
Minimum this total is
To increase the energy within
Heat or compress it

1st law of thermodynamics

This is just the basics
Back to what you already know
Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing appears from nowhere
Everything has a source
Comes from elsewhere
So if something appears
Then it must have come from another place

Gain in internal energy = energy from heating + energy from compressing
Delta U = Delta Q + Delta W

If the system works
And does its stuff
Then energy it might loose

Delta U = Delta Q – Delta W

If a gas is to expand
Then it shall do work
If it shall be influenced
The work is done on it

Delta W = p Delta V

If an object we do heat
The particles within shall race
The kinetic energy is their sugar
Sending them OTT, hyper and crazy
Temperature is the average energy
Of there crazy particles

˝ m <c^2> = 3/2 k T = 3 RT/N

k = Boltzmannn Constant
   = 1.38 X 10 ^ -23

specific heat capacity

specific heat capacity
is the energy it requires
to heat 1 kg of itself
by 1 degree Celsius

c = delta Q / m delta θ
θ is temperature

As an object heated is
The particles move like crazy kids
From solid to liquid the bonds they break
Separating the lot of them from what they know
Then as they boil the kids haywire go

Specific latent heat
Is how much energy you need
To melt or boil 1 kg of me
Without changing my temperature
For melting me I call it fusion
When boiling I say vaporisation

I read the first two cause I a bit busy but i must say: write an entire text book on Physics in this way, it would sell loads.

Dream, there is alot to be said for dreams, even if theres is no chance it will come true. There is comfort in the knowledge you can still dream of it. Nothing great was acomplished without detailed planning, no plan was ever drawn up without a dream of an acomplishment. They did not build the apollo rockets until after man dreamed of reaching out and touching the stars. How? How is irrelevant, as long as there is a why, and the why can be simply "I want to!", the how will be worked out later.

I like that idea rincewind, but will need a lot of work.
Yes PMB I realise I am mad - this is an asylym after all.
Will add more later, need to go and do some work on electricity now.

I really liked these poems. I've always loved math/science and my mother is a high school chemistry teacher. I showed them to her (hope ya don't mind, I thought they were cool!) and she was tickled pink by them. Gave credit where it's due, though, and she said "tell 'Jazen' to keep up the good work!" So ya gots fans!  Grin

I totally like the idea of you doing an entire text book like this. I bet a lot more students would be interested in science if it was taught in a creative way like this!
