There aren't any.

Any reason for this dreadfully depressive decor?

And don't start with slightly blueish tint of the lighter grays here. That's not good enough.

What happened to the red touches of the last one?

I feel more than qualified to dish out the above posted poorly conceived and vaguely offensive remark.

The Administration had some trouble finding good skins, apparently this is the best they could for the moment. They tried some more colourful ones but things went wrong. As far as I know they intend to do something about that when they have the time.

Thought I already replied to this, guess I didn't.

Anyways, it was the best we got.  I found others skins, but none were readable, or looked even more monotone.  To make matters worse, everytime we tried to introduce borders, it would get all crazy on us and revert back to the default forum skin.  I found others, but most were pretty poor.

If you can find a SMFfree compatible skin that is better, let us know and we'll look into it.  We're open to ideas and suggestions.

Question: Will SMFforfree allow you to edit the style? Because my test forum is sending me round in circles. It says I can only modify the default style, but when I go on modify styles it will only let me select my own custom style, not the default one.

If it will let you then I can get some much better skins.... but I can't see that part of the admin CP here.

We were able to edit them, though it was annoying...

I think that's what make was talking about.

Yup, that's what I was talking about, but it was a relatively minor problem.

I'm considering asking Kindred (from 40kO) for some help, since he seems to know SMF really well.

Both Mak and I are content with this skin, for now at the very least.  If you can find a skin that we can use that you like, show it to us, and we'll take a look.

In all honesty, I'd like some color here, but am too lazy to go look for something new.  What we got is decent at the very least.  I'll see if I can find that link to the SMF skin section.

Are we as offensive as we might be?

I really don't mind the colours. There's good contrast, and it maks our avatars stand out Wink (and the ads, as Tau Worlock noticed Tongue).

I have learned (well a bit) to ignore them so it’s not as annoying any more
